Page 24 : Continued
(From the dark of night, Scourge appeared.)
Scourge: What? Cant I visit an old friend?
Widow: Funny. I don't ever recall us being friends.
(In a streak of green, Scourge swiped the Chaos Emerald from under Widow's jacket.)
Scourge: I see you've been busy sense you left the team. Do you really still have hope that you can be saved, after everything you've done? Hurting all those poor, innocent people?
(Widow had an arrow aimed for his head.)
Widow: Give it back Scourge.
(Seeing no challenge Scourge ignored the threat and continued to gaze upon the gleaming rock.)
Scourge: Hmm... I'll take that as a yes. You know, if I where you, I wouldn't even try to seek cleansing from sins as terrible as yours.  
Widow: You never answered me why you're really here.
(Scourge turned to face her, the full moon reflecting over his eyes almost made him look pure.)
Scourge: Actually I'm here to take you back with me. Turns out the boss didn't take you escaping in the middle of the night too well. He said he want's his favorite little pet back.
(Widow's anger surged over her like a flood. It took all of her will not to slip her fingers from the string keeping the arrow held prisoner and sending Scourge into the eternal darkness of death.)
Widow: I have no intention of going back there. You can tell you're boss that, after you crawl back to him, because when I'm finished with you, you're not gonna have the energy to stand. Think of it as payback for taking me to that prison in the first place!
Scourge: Now, now. We don't have to settle this with violence just yet. I've been given three months to turn you in, so I'll give you three months to finish your mission, and when you've realized your efforts were for nothing, you'll come with me weather you want to or not. Deal?
(Scourge tossed her back the Chaos Emerald and Widow realizing she was still outmatched in strength and speed lowered her weapon. She left the Emerald shining at her feet and her eyes didn't leave his for even a moment.)
Widow: Fine. I'll go back if my plan doesn't work. But, if it does, then I suggest that you start running. Because if I can harness the power of all seven Chaos Emeralds, I'll be coming after you and your boss first.

Page 25: With Sonic
(Sonic just got done telling Tails, Cream, and Knuckles about Widow and how he was going to help her find the Chaos Emeralds.)
Knuckles: ARE YOU INSANE?! Your helping a girl you JUST met collect all the Chaos Emeralds! Why don't you just give them to Eggman?! At least we know what he plans to do with them! This girl could be working with Mephiles for all we know!!!
(Sonic gives a nervous smile.)
Sonic: Calm down Knux! She can't be that bad, she saved my life after all. Plus, Widow said she'll help me find Amy!
Tails: Are you sure Sonic? She could have just been after something and ended up accidentally saving you in the process.
Sonic: Of course I'm sure! And even if she was lying to me, I've gotta take the chance. Besides, if she does try anything funny, it be that much easier to stop her if I'm right there with her.
Tails: Well you can count me in.
Sonic:What?
Tails: I don't trust this girl. So as your best friend I'm going with you!
Cream: And Amy is like my sister, so if your looking for her, I'm going to!
(Sonic tried protesting against them but it was pointless. It was obvious that neither Tails nor Cream were gonna back down from this adventure.)
Knuckles: I'm going too! It's my job to look after the master emerald AND the chaos emeralds.
Sonic: But Knuckles, if you go, whos gonna tell Shadow where we are?
Knuckles: Shadows been gone for a while now. Besides, I'm sure he could find us if he wanted too.
Sonic: *sigh* fine. You can come too, but you all have to be careful. I'm not sure what we might run into out there.
Cream: We will Sonic. Don't you worry!
Knuckles: Yeah, its not like we don't know how to fight.
Tails: Yeah Sonic. Don't worry! Where are we suppose to meet her tomorrow anyways?
Sonic: I'll lead you there tomorrow. Just be ready to leave before midnight.

Page: 26:At G.U.N.
(Widow looked up at the entrance of her newest organization. A dark feeling loomed in the back of her mind. Her hand shook as she reached for the door. Afraid of what awaited her on the other side.)
Widow thinking: I'm really in for it this time.
(She took all of her fear and stored it away deep within her so that no one could see it.)
Widow thinks: I don't have time to be scared right now. I have a mission to complete.
(She griped the handle hard and thrust the door open. As she expected, a black hedgehog was posted behind the metal doors, and the look he wore on his face didn't make Widow's fear dissipate.)
Dark-ring: I told you to be back hours ago.
Widow:...
Dark-ring: I see you lost another mask too.
Widow: I ran into a little trouble. Nothing I couldn't handle.
(She brushed past him only for her wrist to be caught in his grasp. He pulled her close and whispered in her ear.)
Dark-ring: Your gonna blow our cover if you keep pulling stunts like this. I tried to cover for you but the boss didn't buy it. I'm afraid I cant protect you this time.
(Widow swallowed hard.)
Widow: *sigh* I saw this coming. At least I can still give you this.
(She did a clean hand off without any detection from the security cameras that hung over head and proceeded down the hallway to receive her punishment and left Dark-ring with the treasure so many where desperate to get.)

Page 27:
*SMACK!*
(Widow's hands and feet were bound to a metal chair. A fresh stream of crimson blood flowed from her open wound down her pale face. Despite the pain, her face stayed neutral with her eyes hidden behind a curtain of bangs. A Man with a shaved head stood before her with a whip in his hand.)
???: I'm not gonna ask you again. Where is it?
(Widow just stayed silent.)
???: Why you little- look at me when I'm talking to you!
Widow: I already told you, I dropped it during the explosion.
???: For your sake, you better hope you did. You knew how much was riding on the safe return of that Chaos Emerald!
(Widow's eyes emerged from her draping bangs. They found the center of the commander's own dead eyes. She looked at him with such a deep hatred that only her eyes had the power to express it. He stuck her down again on the shoulder and more of her blood was shed.)
Commander: Don't look at me with those innocent looking eyes of yours. Me and you both know they mask your true nature. When I think about it, the name Widow really does suit you.
Widow: Hmph. You know, a lot of things can be hidden behind a mask. But I'm afraid it's to late for someone like you to hide anything from the world. Your just a scared little man whos afraid of anything that might or could be stronger than you, so you try to strike fear into their hearts. But the only thing you did was strike a flame of utter hatred for your name, and a burning to put you in your place. People like you are pathetic and have no true place nor purpose in this world.
(She looked at him again with a look that said she had one. He lifted his arm to hit her again and Widow braced herself for the sharp sting of the whip. But it never came. She opened her eyes to see Dark-ring griping the whip firmly in his hand.)

Page 28:
Commander: Who do you think you are?
Dark-Ring: I believe your order was just to interrogate this girl, not beat her to death.
Commander: You cant tell me how to do my job maggot! I'm of higher authority than you are!
Dark-ring: I wonder how the boss would feel about this. What is it about making a girl suffer that makes you feel so superior?  Your like a weakling picking on ants because you finally found something that wasn't stronger than you. If you really want a fight, then why not fight me?
(Dark-ring released the whip and the Commander quickly snatched it back into a neatly wound loop.)
Commander: Pfft! I'm not gonna waste my time proving myself to someone as weak as you.
Dark-ring- Yeah. I thought as much. Now get out. I'm suppose to handle the interrogation from here.
Commander: Fine.
(He looked away from Dark-ring and right at Widow. He moved close to her, griped her chin with his thumb and forefinger, and got close to her face.)
Commander: I'll deal with you later sweet heart. And next time, I'll make sure to leave your boyfriend out of the picture.
(He wiped some of the blood from her face and left.)
Dark-ring: Are you okay Widow?
Widow: You don't always have to come to my rescue you know. I can take care of myself Shadow.
Shadow: Your always so stubborn Widow. If you keep using my real name like that someone's gonna hear and we will be in trouble.
Widow: Yeah, yeah. Anyways you did hide it didn't you.
Shadow: Yeah, it's safe and sound.
Widow: Good. That's all that matters right now. You don't need to worry about me getting hurt anymore either. If you keep intervening like this we'll be caught and far worse than this will happen to us.
(Shadow gazed at the trickling blood that was dropping to Widow's feet.)
Shadow: Fine. I should go. They'll be coming to take you to your cell.
Widow: Ahh... I figured that would be my punishment. How long?
Shadow: You should be out in twenty-four hundred hours.
Widow: Perfect.

Page 29: The next day, 11:30pm
(Tails and Knuckles just finished the last upgrades to the X-Tornado so that it could sit five people and Sonic and Cream were finishing up with the packing. Tails emerged from the cockpit and with the hand grasping a wrench, he wiped the sweat from his face.)
Tails: Well that should do it!
Sonic: It looks great Tails!
Tails: and it works even better!
Cream: Wow Mr. Tails! You're amazing!
(Tails white fur turned soft pink.)
Tails: T-thanks Cr-cream...
Cream: Your welcome!
Sonic: Alright guys it's about time to meet up with Widow.
(Tails reached a nervous hand out to Cream)
Tails: Come on Cream, I'll help you up.
(Cream happily took the young foxes hand and Tails hoisted her up.)
Cream: Thank you Mr. Tails!
Tails: Your welcome Cream. But please just call me Tails from now on.
Cream: Okay Tails! *Giggle*
(They all gathered in the X-Tornado except for Sonic who was leading the way to the meeting place.)

Page 30: At G.U.N.
(Widow had been placed in a metal cell that was void of all light except for the faint glow of the full moon that crawled through the bars on her window.)
Widow: It's time.
(A shadow appeared at her window eclipsing the light from any way of touching the interior of the stone room. And in tune with the escalating darkness a smirk appeared on Widow's face.)
